Our Mission

Music education is a vital part of becoming educated and preparing for life.  It teaches creative and critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills.   Being in the band helps to establish and develop qualities the employers desire - discipline, honesty, responsibility, trustworthiness, dependability, cooperation, hard work, how to get along with others, and how to work with others for the good of all.

To that end, the Mission Statement for the Foard High School Band Program is to:

Provide an environment for the continuation of basic values and the American work ethic,
Provide an opportunity for the educational enhancement of communication skills, critical thinking skills, and problem solving skills, and
Forward the cultural heritage of the art of instrumental music.

The goals of the Foard High School band program are:

for each individual to be the best musician he/she can be,
for each ensemble to be and do their best, and
for each individual to develop into the best person he/she can be.
